Areas of Interest

Our research agenda is organized around two thematic areas.

Knowledge & Innovation

CIPG believes that knowledge and innovation are essential assets for Indonesia to excel its economy and human well-being. As such, we see the importance of improving the knowledge and innovation ecosystem in Indonesia. One of the issues to be addressed is how such an ecosystem can influence evidence-based policymaking processes.

Information & Social Change

CIPG is keen on capturing and researching new dynamics and phenomena that occur in this vast-changing world of science, technology and information. We particularly focus on the area of information and social change.

Our Expertise

Core competencies that drive our research and advisory work.

Digital Transformation

We examine how digital technologies reshape governance, institutions, and society. Our work explores digital governance, data ecosystems, platform economies, and emerging technologies to support evidence-based strategies that foster inclusive, responsible, and sustainable digital transformation.

STI Policy

We conduct research on science, technology, and innovation policy, examining how governance shapes research ecosystems, knowledge production, and innovation capacities. Our work informs evidence-based policy frameworks by exploring institutions, funding mechanisms, and cross-sector collaboration for sustainable development.

Policy Research

We undertake policy-oriented research that combines rigorous analysis with practical insights for decision-makers. Using qualitative and quantitative approaches, we generate evidence-based recommendations and collaborate with governments, civil society, and international partners to support responsive, inclusive public policymaking.

Foresight Studies

We apply foresight approaches to explore possible futures and support long-term policy and technology planning. Using horizon scanning, scenario development, and participatory methods, we help organizations anticipate emerging trends and design adaptive strategies for rapidly changing environments.
