Our research agenda is organized around two thematic areas.
CIPG believes that knowledge and innovation are essential assets for Indonesia to excel its economy and human well-being. As such, we see the importance of improving the knowledge and innovation ecosystem in Indonesia. One of the issues to be addressed is how such an ecosystem can influence evidence- based policymaking processes.
CIPG is keen on capturing and researching new dynamics and phenomena that occur in this vast-changing world of science, technology and information. We particularly focus on the area of information and social change.
We examine how digital technologies reshape governance, institutions, and society. Our work focuses on understanding the opportunities and challenges of digital transformation, including digital governance, data ecosystems, platform economies, and the social implications of emerging technologies. Through research and policy engagement, we support evidence-based strategies for inclusive and responsible digital transformation.
We conduct research and policy analysis on the governance of science, technology, and innovation systems. Our work explores how policies shape research ecosystems, knowledge production, and innovation capacities. By studying institutional arrangements, funding mechanisms, and collaboration across sectors, we contribute to strengthening STI policy frameworks that support sustainable development.
We undertake policy-oriented research that provides rigorous analysis and practical insights for decision-makers. Our work integrates qualitative and quantitative approaches to examine policy challenges and generate evidence- based recommendations. Through collaboration with governments, civil society, and international partners, we aim to inform more responsive and inclusive public policies.
We apply foresight approaches to explore possible futures and support long-term policy and technology planning. Using tools such as horizon scanning, scenario development, and participatory futures methods, we help organizations anticipate emerging trends and uncertainties. Our foresight work enables policymakers and institutions to design adaptive strategies for complex and rapidly changing environments.
